Dr. Thien Truong received his PhD in Engineering from the Australian National University (ANU), Australia, in 2022. He previously earned an MSc in Intelligent Micro/Nano Systems from Konkuk University, South Korea, in 2018, and a Degree of Engineer in Mechanical Engineering from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering (HCMUTE), Vietnam, in 2015. His research focuses on the application of advanced characterization techniques (spectroscopy and microscopy) to photovoltaic (PV) materials and devices, as well as the development of silicon solar cells for terrestrial and space applications. He specializes in novel passivating contact technologies for silicon photovoltaics (TOPCon, SHJ, and IBC) and is actively involved in research on perovskites, silicon tandem solar cells, III–V materials, two-dimensional materials, and (photo)electrocatalysis.
